Worked on enhancing the onboarding and local setup experience for the Metaculus/metaculus repository by updating and refining the project’s setup documentation. Focused on making the onboarding process more accessible, the work included adding Mac-specific guidance, clarifying PostgreSQL commands, and detailing installation steps for prerequisites such as pgvector and pyenv. Leveraged skills in Bash, Markdown, and SQL to codify these improvements, ensuring that new contributors could reproduce development environments more reliably. The changes reduced environment-related troubleshooting and enabled faster time-to-first-run, streamlining the process for developers to begin local development and testing with clear, actionable setup instructions.
