Worked on the derailed/cilium repository to refactor the Hubble peer service, focusing on architectural improvements through a cell-based design. Introduced a new peercell package and integrated it with the existing Hubble cell structure, using Go and modular architecture principles to enhance maintainability and reduce technical debt. The refactoring aligned service boundaries with the cell design, minimizing cross-component coupling and laying the foundation for safer, faster feature delivery. Emphasized system design and code quality, prioritizing long-term maintainability over immediate bug fixes. This work established a more modular codebase, making future enhancements and onboarding for maintainers more straightforward and efficient.
