During August 2025, Lil22duckling focused on enhancing reliability and test hygiene for the erigontech/erigon repository. Concentrating on backend stability rather than new features, Lil22duckling improved the sentinel status request flow by removing a skipped test and correcting unreachable code, ensuring that error handling was properly validated under realistic scenarios. This work, implemented in Go and leveraging strong debugging and testing skills, addressed flaky test behavior and reduced the risk of unnoticed failures in production. By refining the TestSentinelStatusRequest logic, Lil22duckling contributed to more robust CI outcomes and improved code quality, demonstrating depth in backend reliability engineering.
