Linhao Qian enhanced the ghostery-extension repository by expanding the Search Engine Redirect Protection feature to include Bing, aligning with the goal of comprehensive coverage across major search engines. Using JavaScript and regular expressions, Linhao updated the content script to recognize and handle Bing’s unique redirect URL format, ensuring consistent protection alongside existing Google support. The user interface text was also refreshed to accurately reflect the broader protection scope. This work demonstrated a focused approach to feature delivery, with careful attention to both technical adaptation and user experience, resulting in a deeper, more robust browser extension without introducing performance risks.
