Worked on enhancing the reliability of ELEMENT_BEAM parsing within the BRL-CAD/brlcad repository, focusing on improving data association and error handling for multi-card keywords. Addressed a persistent bug by ensuring the optionsCounter incremented correctly after processing the first card, which reduced parsing errors and improved downstream data integrity. Refactored the state management logic to maintain a persistent elementId and updated references to data structures, preventing local resets and ensuring correct association of options across multiple lines. Utilized C++ and applied expertise in parsing logic and software debugging to deliver a more stable and maintainable ELEMENT_BEAM processing workflow.
