Worked on the qmk/RIOT repository to enhance beacon frame handling in the nrf802154 driver, focusing on both reliability and testability. Developed a new beacon frame testing workflow, including a beaconsend shell command and expanded test coverage, which streamlined diagnostics and validated acceptance logic. Addressed a bug in the driver’s _l2filter by refining how beacon frames are accepted based on PAN ID and destination address, improving network protocol compliance. All changes were implemented in C, leveraging expertise in device drivers and embedded systems. The updates reduced regression risk and provided clearer guidance for future testing and maintenance of radio communication features.
