Worked on backend development and test infrastructure for the 309thEDDGE/weave repository, focusing on security and reliability over a two-month period. Refactored the MongoDB connection logic to use environment variables exclusively, removing default credentials to enhance security and configuration management. Standardized PyMongo test skip conditions and improved test reliability, particularly in response to changes in Python 3.13’s JSON parsing behavior. Addressed cross-version compatibility issues and maintained consistent release versioning, ensuring stable CI/CD pipelines and safer deployments. Utilized Python, version control, and testing frameworks to streamline release processes and reduce the risk of flaky tests without introducing functional changes.
