Worked on the kestra-io/kestra and kestra-io/actions repositories to deliver robust Helm chart automation, release workflows, and documentation for Kestra deployments. Developed centralized CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Bash, migrating Helm chart artifact publishing to Google Cloud Storage and implementing validation gates for safer releases. Enhanced the Helm chart to support Kestra 2.0’s gRPC worker-controller architecture, including dedicated controller deployments and migration guidance. Automated version management, documentation generation, and repository hygiene, leveraging YAML and Infrastructure as Code practices. These efforts improved release reliability, streamlined operational processes, and enabled scalable, distributed deployments for Kestra users and operators.
July 2026: Delivered Kestra 2.0 gRPC worker-controller architecture support in the Helm chart for kestra-io/kestra. Implemented a dedicated controller deployment, configured gRPC ports (50051), and added a dedicated controller-service to enable proper networking for distributed deployments. Added migration and upgrade guidance covering standalone, standalone+worker, and fully distributed modes, including breaking-change notes for the gRPC port. Reworked Helm packaging to render the controller service within the existing service.yaml, and documented embedded controller behavior in the webserver with an opt-out (--no-controller). This work unlocks scalable, reliable worker-controller communication, reduces upgrade risk, and improves operational clarity for operators.
