Matano worked on the port-labs/terraform-provider-port-labs repository, delivering three features over two months focused on infrastructure automation and validation. He developed a Port Folder Management resource in Go and HCL, enabling hierarchical folder structures and controlled feature rollouts via environment variables. He also introduced automatic creation of related entities to streamline resource configuration. In April, Matano implemented dynamic pattern validation for Port Actions using JQ, enhancing runtime validation and reducing misconfigurations. His work emphasized robust test coverage, clear documentation, and validation logic, demonstrating depth in Terraform provider development and backend engineering while improving reliability and user experience for Port users.

April 2025 – port-labs/terraform-provider-port-labs: Delivered Port Action Dynamic Pattern Validation with pattern_jq_query on string properties, including length validation, docs updates, and broad test coverage to prevent empty/invalid patterns and to differentiate string patterns from jqQuery patterns. Also completed multiple quality improvements: test fixes, documentation corrections, and simplifications of pattern assignment; removed outdated expectations. These changes reduce misconfigurations, improve runtime validation, and increase confidence for users configuring Port actions.

In February 2025, the Terraform provider for PortLabs delivered two major capabilities that improve infrastructure organization and automation, with a controlled rollout approach to new features. The changes enable richer resource modeling, reduce manual configuration, and set the stage for broader adoption across projects using Port.
