During June 2025, work focused on enhancing UI consistency within the CDCgov/cdc-open-viz repository by addressing a styling issue in the Dropdown component. The developer implemented a targeted fix using CSS and JavaScript to ensure the dropdown background consistently renders as white, regardless of theme or CSS specificity conflicts. This adjustment improved the visual stability of dashboards and reduced user confusion caused by stray background colors. The solution was isolated to component styling, leveraging React for seamless integration and minimal impact on existing functionality. As a result, the change contributed to a more reliable user experience and decreased UI-related support requests.
