Worked on the SenseMate project within the smartuni/riot-po-2025 repository, focusing on hardware integration and repository maintenance to streamline manufacturing and improve reliability. Redesigned the SenseMate3D enclosure using CAD and 3D modeling, updating tolerances, snap-fit features, and bracket spacing to support manufacturing readiness and customization. Enhanced file management by cleaning up obsolete assets, backups, and outdated GCODE files, reducing maintenance overhead. Addressed a reliability issue in the sound event subsystem by fixing an initialization race in C, ensuring robust audio handling at startup. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to embedded systems, hardware design, and repository hygiene in a production context.
July 2025 highlights the SenseMate project’s hardware integration and repository hygiene improvements for faster manufacturing handoff and more reliable operation. Key outcomes include a hardware-ready enclosure redesign (SenseMate3D) and cleanup of obsolete assets, plus a reliability fix to the sound event subsystem that underpins robust audio handling.
