Worked on improving the development environment for the langwatch/langwatch repository by addressing OpenSearch compatibility issues. Focused on configuration management and DevOps practices, the work involved updating the compose.dev.yml file using YAML to set IS_OPENSEARCH=true, which enabled correct identification and interaction with OpenSearch during development. This targeted bug fix reduced integration errors and stabilized the local workflow, minimizing environment-related debugging time. The changes were documented and codified to support ongoing and future OpenSearch feature development, ensuring consistent behavior across development setups. The approach laid a foundation for more reliable production-facing search capabilities within the project’s evolving infrastructure.
