Worked on targeted build optimization for the IBM/velox repository, focusing on enhancing performance for Arm Neoverse V2 hardware. Addressed the build system by ensuring that the correct compiler flag, -mcpu=neoverse-v2, is consistently applied during compilation, preventing fallback to less optimized generic flags. This approach maintained optimal code paths and reduced the risk of performance regressions on Arm-based deployments. Leveraged expertise in build systems, compiler flags, and performance optimization, primarily using Shell scripting. The work improved build reliability and predictability, aligning the build process with the specific requirements of Neoverse V2 systems for efficient deployment.
