Worked on the microbiomedata/nmdc-runtime repository to deliver automated daily re-materialization of the alldocs collection, focusing on improving data freshness and operational resilience. Leveraged Python and Dagster to implement a scheduled job that re-materializes alldocs with atomic materialization, ensuring data consistency during updates. Enhanced the API’s error handling for update and delete operations, reducing the need for manual intervention and supporting more robust production workflows. The approach combined data engineering, API development, and task scheduling skills to streamline maintenance and improve reliability. No bugs were fixed during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature delivery and process automation within the codebase.
