Worked on enhancing the Port.Metric schema within the open-traffic-generator/models repository to improve change-tracking precision and data integrity. Focused on configuration management and data modeling, the developer introduced a last_change timestamp field in the port.yaml file, capturing the absolute time of the last link-state change in nanoseconds since the Unix epoch. The update also involved renaming the last_link_state_change_time field to last_change and converting its datatype to uint64, ensuring more precise timestamp storage. These changes, implemented using YAML, improved data fidelity and traceability for port state changes, supporting more accurate analytics, debugging, and service-level agreement monitoring.
