In January 2025, Steve Grubb upgraded the OpenVINO Model Server image within the red-hat-data-services/odh-model-controller repository, updating the environment configuration to use OVMS 2024.5. This work focused on configuration management using Shell scripting, ensuring that production workloads leveraged the latest features and stability improvements from OVMS. By aligning the image provisioning process with current release engineering practices, Steve reduced maintenance overhead and improved inference reliability. The update addressed compatibility with new OVMS releases, streamlining future upgrades and minimizing operational risk. The depth of the work lay in careful integration and validation to maintain production stability during the transition.
