Developed an automated version management solution for the stfc/cloud-docker-images repository, focusing on streamlining the release process and minimizing manual intervention. The work centered on implementing a Bash shell script that reads the current release version, increments the patch number, and updates the metadata to ensure consistent and repeatable releases. This script was migrated from SCD-Openstack-Utils as part of a repository reorganization, consolidating release tooling within cloud-docker-images. Leveraging DevOps practices and shell scripting expertise, the solution improved release reliability and accelerated CI/CD workflows by reducing the risk of versioning errors and eliminating manual steps in the version increment process.
