During November 2024, Arepp focused on backend stability for the cloudflare/workerd repository, addressing a critical connectivity issue in Hyperdrive. By reverting the SSL mode to 'disable' after recent SSL upgrade negotiations caused timeouts, Arepp restored reliable database connectivity for affected workloads. The solution involved careful rollback of SSL configuration, thorough validation, and risk mitigation to ensure minimal service disruption. Working primarily with C++ and leveraging expertise in backend development and database connectivity, Arepp’s targeted fix reduced outages and improved client reliability. The work demonstrated depth in incident response and was fully traceable through the SQC-333 task and associated commit.
