Worked on the Telecominfraproject/wlan-ap repository to enhance the reliability of hostapd by addressing failure scenarios in snooping interface initialization. Developed a fail-safe mechanism in C that allows hostapd to gracefully handle cases where generic, DHCP, or Neighbor Discovery snooping interfaces fail to initialize, ensuring that the service does not abort entirely. The solution disables proxy ARP when initialization fails, allowing normal wireless networking operations to continue and preserving connectivity for embedded systems deployments. This approach improved the maintainability and robustness of network configuration workflows by preventing full service outages due to partial initialization failures in complex wireless environments.
