Developed and integrated a Google OAuth 2.0 authentication system for the Paul-Austin-Oswego-CSC480-HCI521/OZ-CSC-480-HCI-521-Spring-2025 repository, enabling secure user login across both backend and frontend. The implementation featured JWT-based session management and introduced a whoami endpoint to expose authenticated user context to the frontend. Centralized OAuth configuration using environment variables streamlined deployment across multiple environments. The work included frontend improvements to the login user experience, reducing friction during sign-in. JavaScript, React, and Docker were used to synchronize changes across the stack, resulting in a deployment-ready authentication flow with robust session handling and maintainable configuration management.
