Worked on the hmcts/opal-user-service repository to deliver a token-based user creation feature focused on reliability and onboarding efficiency. Developed a global exception handler in Java and Groovy to address unique constraint violations, ensuring robust error management during user registration. Enhanced the backend with session-aware responses and expanded test coverage using Cucumber and Spring, improving both functional and smoke test configurations. Refactored the codebase for better maintainability by removing unused imports and streamlining logic. These changes reduced duplicate user creation, improved observability through detailed test reporting, and contributed to a more maintainable and reliable user onboarding process.
