During November 2024, Svem Box upgraded the Cluster Autoscaler in the neondatabase/autoscaling repository to version 1.28.6, laying the groundwork for future NeonVM integration. By updating listers.go and aligning version tags, Svem ensured the autoscaling system is ready to support NeonVM-enabled workloads, improving rollout reliability and maintainability. The work demonstrated a strong command of Go and Kubernetes, with careful attention to system administration best practices. Although the focus was on a single feature, the depth of the upgrade and preparatory changes reflected robust change management and a forward-looking approach to enabling new autoscaling capabilities within the project’s infrastructure.
