Developed and integrated the IBM watsonx code assistant as a new provider option for the yetone/avante.nvim repository, expanding code-completion capabilities and enhancing enterprise readiness. The work involved implementing robust API integration and configuration management, allowing users to specify endpoints and models for the watsonx provider. Using Lua, the developer architected provider-agnostic scaffolding to support future AI code-assistance integrations and updated the plugin’s curl logic to handle multipart/form-data requests reliably. This feature laid the groundwork for scalable plugin development, improved maintainability, and ensured seamless request and response handling for advanced code assistance within the Neovim ecosystem.
