Worked on the move-coop/parsons repository to enhance BigQuery integration by introducing a configurable timeout mechanism for query jobs. Developed a max_timeout parameter that allows users to specify the maximum duration for BigQuery operations, improving reliability and cost control for data workflows. Implemented robust error handling in Python to manage DeadlineExceeded scenarios, ensuring that long-running queries are gracefully terminated without disrupting existing processes. Maintained backward compatibility by defaulting to previous behavior when the new parameter is not set. Demonstrated expertise in API integration, database management, and parameter-driven design, resulting in more predictable and manageable data loading operations for users.
