Month 2025-09: Delivered backwards-compatible redaction sending for older Matrix room versions (MSC4169) in element-hq/synapse, enabling processing of redaction events with the redacts field via the /send endpoint for rooms < v11. This work improves interoperability, supports delayed redactions, and reduces operational risk when handling legacy room versions. Related to MSC4169 spec and issue #18898.
