Worked on enhancing the stability and interoperability of the phidatahq/phidata repository by addressing a critical bug in the OpenAIEmbedder component. Focused on backend and API development using Python, the work ensured that the dimensions parameter is consistently passed to all third-party OpenAI-compatible embedding APIs, regardless of model ID or base URL. This fix prevented dimension mismatch errors and maintained backward compatibility with older models such as text-embedding-ada-002. Emphasized clear commit messaging and collaborative coding practices, which support future extensibility to additional providers. No new features were shipped during this period, with efforts concentrated on reliability and maintainability.
