Delivered a targeted documentation update for the Mender Client Retry Mechanisms, clarifying RetryPollIntervalSeconds and RetryPollCount and detailing the exponential backoff behavior with practical examples. The update aligns with the server retry semantics and provides explicit guidance for developers and users on how retries are handled during client-server communication.

December 2024 monthly summary for the mender-docs team focused on enhancing user-facing documentation for the Mender snapshot workflow. Delivered a targeted Documentation: Snapshot Workaround Clarification, including clearer commands for on-device and host shells and an explicit note about observing the progress bar during the Mender client snapshot process. A corresponding minor wording fix for the snapshot workaround was applied to improve accuracy and readability.

November 2024 monthly summary focused on delivering reliability improvements in the mender-docs checksum troubleshooting workflow. Key change: fix for BusyBox dd compatibility in the checksum generation guidance, ensuring correct payload size and block size/count handling across environments. This reduces troubleshooting errors and support overhead. Commit 8f05a0c84e0419728ae36cfcdee051f4117fd246 (#2489). Also updated the delta troubleshoot snippet to reflect BusyBox dd behavior for cross-environment guidance.

Month: 2024-10 — Delivered production-ready Mender Gateway deployment and Kubernetes integration in mender-docs, including config refactors, MTLS updates, and review/testing fixes to reduce production risk and accelerate deployment. This work lays groundwork for scalable, secure deployments and smoother CI/CD handoffs.
