Worked on the ziglang/zig repository to enhance cross-platform networking capabilities by implementing Windows support for the if_nametoindex function in Zig’s standard networking library. This addition allows developers to retrieve network interface indices by name on Windows, bringing the Windows networking surface in line with POSIX standards and reducing platform-specific discrepancies. The work focused on improving developer productivity and minimizing edge cases when writing cross-platform network code. Leveraged skills in cross-platform development, network programming, and system programming, using Zig as the primary language. The contribution addressed a key compatibility gap, supporting more consistent and reliable networking behavior across operating systems.
