Worked on the google/bumble repository to deliver two targeted enhancements focused on maintainability and hardware support. Addressed cross-platform development challenges by updating the .gitignore file to exclude macOS xattr files, reducing repository clutter and improving consistency for contributors on different operating systems. Expanded the driver framework by adding support for the RTL8761CU Bluetooth chip, including new identifiers, USB product IDs, and updated project ID mappings to ensure proper device recognition. Leveraged Python, Rust, and Git throughout the process, with an emphasis on version control and embedded systems. These changes streamlined onboarding and positioned the project for broader hardware compatibility.
