Worked on the NousResearch/hermes-agent repository to enhance output hygiene by addressing the exposure of internal thinking blocks in user-facing content. Focused on Python-based CLI development and text processing, implementing a robust regular expression solution to strip <thought> tags from Gemma 4 responses and streaming CLI output. Consolidated the tag-stripping logic into a single function to ensure consistency across both response rendering and streaming paths. Delivered the fix through clear, reviewable commits, improving the user experience by ensuring only intended content is displayed. The work demonstrated attention to detail in bug fixing and a methodical approach to maintaining code quality.
