Developed and delivered type hinting support for the PyGhidra package within the NationalSecurityAgency/ghidra repository, focusing on enhancing static type checking and improving the overall developer experience. The work involved integrating a py.typed file, which enables Python tooling and IDEs to recognize type annotations, thereby increasing productivity and code quality. By establishing type hinting standards, the contribution improved onboarding efficiency and maintainability for future development. The technical approach centered on Python development and type hinting best practices, laying the groundwork for safer refactoring and future enhancements to typing coverage across the codebase without introducing any bug fixes during the period.
