Over eight months, contributed to HigherOrderCO repositories by building and enhancing language runtimes, compilers, and developer tooling, with a focus on Kind, HVM3, and Bend2. Delivered features such as tail call optimization, universal quantification in type systems, and improved pattern matching syntax, while refactoring core modules for maintainability and performance. Leveraged Haskell, C, and JavaScript to implement low-level optimizations, FFI bindings, and robust parsing logic. Addressed 43 bugs and shipped 88 features, emphasizing code clarity, documentation, and test-driven development. The work improved runtime efficiency, language expressiveness, and onboarding, supporting both advanced language design and practical developer workflows.
June 2025 monthly summary for HigherOrderCO/Bend2: Key work focused on improving developer understanding of pattern matching syntax by updating the documentation. Delivered a Pattern Matching Documentation Update in syntax.md, clarifying the usage of the with clause, case statement structure, and support for multiple bindings and patterns. This work enhances onboarding, reduces support friction, and improves long-term maintainability of the language features.
