In February 2025, Viktor Mares enhanced security in the Netflix/dispatch repository by developing a feature that restricts user profile edits exclusively to those with the Owner role. This change addressed potential IDOR vulnerabilities by enforcing least-privilege access controls within the application’s authentication layer. Viktor applied Python and Django security best practices, focusing on backend and API development to ensure safer user data handling and compliance with security standards. While no major bugs were fixed during this period, the work demonstrated a depth of understanding in access control mechanisms and contributed to the overall resilience and code quality of the project.
