Worked on the lancedb/lancedb repository to enhance the reliability of data ingestion by addressing a TypeError encountered during the conversion of Pydantic models with Enum fields to Arrow schemas. Developed an Enum-aware mapping strategy in Python that correctly translates both string and integer-valued Enum types to their corresponding Arrow types, ensuring robust schema compatibility. Implemented comprehensive unit tests to validate the handling of str, int, and Optional Enum fields, and provided safe fallbacks for mixed or empty Enums. Documented the updated behavior and coordinated changes with related issues and pull requests, demonstrating strong skills in Arrow, Enum handling, and Pydantic.
