During March 2026, work focused on integrating the Spinel theme into the zed-industries/extensions repository, establishing a scalable theming framework for front end development. The approach involved introducing the Spinel theme as a submodule, updating deployment and configuration files written in TOML, and enabling the extension to recognize and manage theme assets for streamlined user customization. Collaboration with the external Spinel theme repository ensured coherent dependency management and future update readiness. This integration reduced onboarding time for new themes and improved deployment workflows, allowing for easier customization and maintenance across the extension without introducing new bug fixes during the period.
