During December 2024, Alex Esterson enhanced the CI workflow for the pybamm-team/PyBaMM repository by focusing on automating and strengthening cross-repo validation processes. Alex migrated the workflow to use the peter-evans/repository-dispatch action, enabling structured payloads and more reliable automation between PyBaMM and pybamm-validation. This update, implemented in YAML and leveraging GitHub Actions, improved the reliability and traceability of validation automation, reducing manual intervention and accelerating feedback cycles. While no major bugs were addressed, the work demonstrated depth in CI/CD pipeline governance and cross-repository automation, resulting in a more maintainable and efficient validation process for the project.
