Aarnav Anoop developed a core scheduling enhancement for the Gopher-Industries/SecureShift repository, focusing on backend improvements using Express.js, MongoDB, and Node.js. He implemented CRUD operations for user availability and integrated shift filtering based on these constraints, allowing the system to automate and refine shift assignments. This work reduced manual coordination and improved planning efficiency by ensuring shifts align with user availability. Aarnav maintained clean, conventional commits and cohesive feature design, supporting future scalability. While the project scope was limited to a single feature over one month, the solution addressed a clear product need and demonstrated solid backend engineering practices.
