Over a two-month period, contributed to the basedhardware/omi repository by delivering seven new features focused on enhancing chat accessibility and user experience on macOS. Developed a global chat system accessible via hotkey, implemented real-time message synchronization, and integrated cross-app authentication with robust error handling. Built a unified chat interface with speech recognition and automated code signing to streamline deployment. Expanded the chat overlay to support full message visibility and introduced real-time audio waveform visualization in the Voice Assistant. Leveraged Swift, SwiftUI, and AVFoundation, applying expertise in API integration, concurrency, and UI/UX design to improve reliability and maintainability throughout the codebase.
Concise monthly summary for August 2025 (basedhardware/omi). Delivered three key items: real-time audio waveform visualization in Voice Assistant, chat view initialization enhancements with transcript/initial message support, and macOS overlay-enabled expansion of the chat interface for full message visibility. These work items collectively improve user experience, reduce friction in starting and continuing conversations, and expand multi-modal UI capabilities.
