During July 2025, Alexander Bokovoy developed a new feature for the 389ds/389-ds-base repository, focusing on enhancing the Uiduniq plugin to support customizable attribute matching rules within LDAP filters. By implementing parser-based handling for colon-delimited attribute names in C, he enabled administrators to specify different matching behaviors, addressing the flexibility gap identified in issue 6857. This work improved attribute uniqueness enforcement, supporting diverse deployment schemas and reducing the risk of duplicate entries. Concentrating on plugin development and system programming, Alexander’s contribution laid the groundwork for broader validation and deployment, demonstrating depth in both technical approach and problem-solving.
