Abhiram Shibu focused on enhancing the XenForo importer within the discourse/discourse repository, addressing schema changes that affected data migration reliability. He updated the importer to reference the new reactions table instead of the deprecated likes table, ensuring accurate transfer of user reactions during migrations. This work involved careful SQL schema alignment, scripting in Ruby, and targeted testing to validate the importer’s behavior. By improving data integrity and reducing migration errors, Abhiram’s contribution supported smoother transitions for XenForo-based sites moving to the new platform. The work demonstrated depth in database migration tooling and Git-based change management within a short timeframe.
