
Worked on the GoogleCloudPlatform/PerfKitBenchmarker repository to enhance network performance benchmarking capabilities, focusing on DPDK Pktgen integration. Over two months, delivered three features that improved performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability of throughput testing workflows. Used Python and YAML to refactor configuration management, update Pktgen settings for reproducible results, and introduce configurable initial rates and retry logic for binary search routines. Tuned multi-NIC configurations and streamlined default parameters to support clearer, more deterministic benchmarking across cloud environments. The work established a stronger baseline for performance comparison and enabled faster optimization cycles, emphasizing clarity, reproducibility, and maintainability in benchmarking infrastructure.
