Worked on the 4Science/dspace-angular repository to deliver a targeted SEO enhancement by refining the robots.txt configuration. Focused on web crawling management, the update disallowed indexing of user-specific content, certain entity page tabs, facet search links, and the OpenSearch endpoint, while ensuring that main entity pages remained accessible to both users and search engines. This approach balanced privacy protection with optimal discoverability, aligning with business goals to reduce unnecessary indexing and server load. The work leveraged skills in SEO and web crawling configuration, utilizing ejs templates to implement the changes and maintain a privacy-conscious, search-friendly Angular-based application environment.
