Worked on the envoyproxy/gateway repository to address a GRPCRoute mirror filter bug, focusing on backend indexing and conflict resolution between RequestMirror and DirectResponse filters. Used Go to implement proper indexing of backend services and introduced logic to detect and resolve filter conflicts, improving routing stability in Kubernetes environments. Added targeted tests to validate the new indexers and documented the changes in release notes, ensuring clarity for future maintainers. Collaborated with other contributors to review and merge the fix, resulting in reduced misrouting risks for mirrored gRPC traffic. The work emphasized backend development and gRPC expertise to enhance gateway reliability.
