During December 2025, Alex Caird enhanced the letsencrypt/boulder repository by improving the Docker-based setup process to streamline developer onboarding and reduce setup errors. Alex updated the project’s documentation, specifically the README, to introduce a bsetup certificate generation step prior to application startup. This change ensures that necessary certificates are reliably created before Boulder runs, improving both local development reliability and security posture.
