By refining the interval setting and enhancing the timeval-to-milliseconds conversion, Aceel ensured more accurate timing and eliminated assertion failures caused by microsecond rounding errors. The work also introduced a warning log for invalid refresh timer delays, increasing the robustness and debuggability of OSPFD operations. Using C programming and leveraging expertise in network protocols and OSPF, Aceel’s contributions demonstrated careful attention to detail and a methodical approach to debugging, resulting in a more reliable routing daemon implementation.
