Worked on the CDCgov/NEDSS-DataIngestion repository to streamline backend architecture by deprecating and removing the legacy srte-data-service component. This involved eliminating associated assets, configuration files, and references throughout deployment scripts and repository files, with updates extending to docker-compose configurations and CI/CD workflows. The changes were implemented using Java, YAML, Docker, and Spring Boot, focusing on simplifying the data ingestion pipeline and reducing ongoing maintenance requirements. Documentation was revised to reflect the new, leaner architecture, resulting in a reduced defect surface and improved deployment clarity. No bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts concentrated on architectural simplification.
