During June 2025, Alex contributed to the pollinations/pollinations repository by developing Transparent Image Support within the Image Generation API. This feature introduced conditional image format handling, converting outputs to JPEG by default while preserving PNG transparency for the gptimage model, thereby broadening the API’s use cases and reducing the need for post-processing. Alex updated the API documentation to clarify these changes and provided detailed authentication guidance, enhancing the developer experience. The work leveraged JavaScript and focused on backend and API development, with an emphasis on image processing. The contribution was feature-driven, with no major bugs reported during this period.
