During January 2025, Adri Salafer developed an OAuth-based authentication system for the Insights API within the ansible/awx repository. Leveraging Python and YAML, Adri implemented a client credentials token flow and integrated session handling, enabling secure, programmatic access to Insights data. The work included updating Ansible playbooks to support OAuth configuration, ensuring seamless deployment and runtime adoption. By focusing on API integration and authentication, Adri strengthened the security posture of the platform and established a foundation for future token management and auditability. The feature was delivered without client-facing outages, reflecting careful engineering and a focus on maintainable automation workflows.
