During August 2025, Aemous streamlined the boto3 repository by removing AWS OpsWorks integration from both the library and its test suite. Using Python and leveraging skills in AWS, CI/CD, and integration testing, Aemous cleared deprecated REGION_MAP and BLOCKLIST entries and eliminated all OpsWorks-related code paths. This technical approach reduced maintenance overhead and improved the reliability of automated tests by removing obsolete dependencies. The work resulted in a leaner, more maintainable codebase and faster test execution. Aemous’s focused contribution addressed technical debt, demonstrating depth in library maintenance and cloud computing while ensuring the boto3 project remains current and efficient.
