During November 2024, Alex Gunn enhanced data governance and discoverability in the RedHatInsights/quickstarts repository by introducing metadata-based product family categorization. Alex added a 'product-families' metadata tag with the value 'openshift' to two existing quickstart metadata files, enabling more effective organization and searchability for OpenShift offerings within RHTPA. This work was limited to metadata management and documentation, with no changes to functional code, thereby minimizing deployment risk. Utilizing YAML for metadata structuring and Git for version control, Alex’s contribution improved the clarity and traceability of quickstart categorization, though the scope was focused and did not involve bug fixes or runtime features.
